NeoCon 2010

I recently returned from the World Trade Fair in Chicago with my little sister (designer in training at RU)...the biggest commercial design trade fair in the United States. While the entire trip flew by, it was inspiring being surrounded by so many talented design professionals. My love for design was definitely refreshed!! Here are some pictures of different booths, store fronts, and vignettes......

Our room in the boutique hotel we stayed in (Hotel Sax)

Chicago skyline

There was a pool in the middle of the store! And a cool ceiling fixture...

Odd furniture...made me feel like I was either in a cartoon or Alice in Wonderland. Cool concept though!!

This is what I want my bedroom to look like! Only with more color.... ;)

Fresh Flowers

As my garden is actually starting to bloom (I didn't kill all of the plants...yayyy!!!), I am becoming motivated to put fresh flowers in the house. I'm usually not a fan of clutter, but who wouldn't want an extra pop of color and a sweet flowery smell in their home?

Here are some really cool vases I found. Definitely worth investing in...

Ethan Allen Blue and White porcelain vase

Crate and Barrel Whelk and Conk shell vase (lay a single flower on the cute)

Crate and Barrel Artura Vases

West Elm Pure White Ceramic Vase Collection

West Elm Summer Vases

Restoration Hardware Yogurt Bottles

Urban Outfitters Barnacle Cluster vase (barnacles...suhweeet)

Fresh Color Pallettes

While on vacation, I actually had time to look through some current fashion and design magazines. The magazines obviously keep up with color trends for the season, so I figured why not create some color palettes based on images from the magazine. I used Sherwin William's paint colors (just in case you want to duplicate these colors in your home). Enjoy!
